ProSuitability is a drafting tool for UK advice firms. You bring in the fact-find and the recommendation; ProSuitability produces a structured, personalised first draft of the suitability report; you review it, edit where needed and export a polished document. The adviser remains responsible for the recommendation and signs off the file. We call that review, not retype.

Other tools solve different problems. Some deliver compliance content and a managed report platform. Some are configurable report builders. Some use generative AI to draft inside your own Word templates. Some firms hand the writing to an outsourced paraplanner. And some advisers simply try a general chatbot. This page takes each in turn: what the vendor’s public site says it is, how ProSuitability differs, and where that alternative may genuinely suit your firm more.

What ProSuitability is, in one paragraph

ProSuitability’s Report Constructor assembles the suitability report draft from a structured paragraph library, using the case details and recommendation you enter. Generative AI does not write the suitability report. It works standalone: no CRM or practice management system integration is required. An optional add-on, Virtual Paraplanner, is a suggest-only companion that helps draft an editable Needs & Demands letter after the recommendation exists; it does not write into Constructor fields or change the suitability report. The service is hosted on DigitalOcean App Platform in the UK (London region), and our sub-processors are Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Stripe and Resend — details are on our security page. ATEB Suitability (now ATEB Insights)

What their site says. ATEB’s website says ATEB Suitability is now ATEB Insights, following an acquisition by Saturn. It describes itself as compliance and suitability expertise delivered through a platform: a named compliance lead, an in-house policy team that keeps a rule library and report templates up to date, a central content library, an audit trail, and integrations with back-office systems. Its own line is “Your compliance team. Not another software.” Pricing is not published on the site; the call to action is a discovery call.

How ProSuitability differs. ProSuitability is software, not a compliance service. We do not provide a named compliance lead or a policy team reviewing your files. Firms with up to 10 advisers can start a trial from the website without a card and draft from their own case inputs; firms with 11 or more advisers book a call first.

Where ATEB may suit you more. If your firm wants an outsourced compliance-content model — a team tracking rule changes, maintaining approved wording and supporting your process — or needs client and plan data pulled in from a back-office system, ATEB’s model is built for that. Firms that prefer to evaluate through a guided discovery call may also find that approach suits them.

Genovo

What their site says. Genovo describes itself as “a highly customisable and easy-to-use online suitability report builder”. Its features pages list content libraries, a report template library, a modular report builder, several report types, and integrations with Intelliflo Office, Xplan, Curo, Plannr, Dynamic Planner and 4admin. Its pricing page lists Solo, Company and Group plans with Writer and Reader users, and a 30-day free trial for which, its FAQ says, card details are required at sign-up.

How ProSuitability differs. ProSuitability is deliberately narrower. Rather than a builder you configure section by section, it takes the case and the recommendation and returns a structured first draft to review. There is no integration to set up, and none is needed to use it. A trial does not ask for card details.

Where Genovo may suit you more. If you want deep control over report content, sections, branding and templates, a wide range of advice scenarios and report types, or data pulled from one of the back-office systems Genovo lists, Genovo is designed around exactly that. Groups and networks wanting parent-and-child accounts with cascaded content will find that on Genovo’s published plans.

Templi

What their site says. Templi describes its suitability report product as software that “turns client context, fact-find data and adviser recommendations into first drafts your team can review, edit and export in your firm’s own Word templates”. It emphasises document fidelity — preserving branding, tables and locked wording — and says the system learns from your templates and review habits. Its home page describes a wider product, an “AI-native connector” for advice-firm workflows, with integrations listed including Intelliflo Office, Iress Xplan, Plannr, OneDrive and SharePoint. Templi says the firm’s team stays responsible for advice decisions, wording and final approval. We did not find a published price list; the site’s calls to action lead to booking a demo.

How ProSuitability differs. Templi uses AI to draft inside your existing Word templates. ProSuitability’s suitability report comes from its own Report Constructor and paragraph library, not from generative AI and not from your house template. You review the draft on screen, edit where needed and export a polished document to finish.

Where Templi may suit you more. If keeping your firm’s existing Word templates, house wording and complex formatting exactly as they are is non-negotiable, or you want AI working across meetings, fact-finds and back-office updates as well as reports, Templi is built around that.

AdvisoryAI

What their site says. AdvisoryAI describes itself as an “AI co-worker for UK financial advice firms”. Its suitability report product, Emma, reads LOA packs, extracts the data and builds reports in your firm’s templates, with back-office write-back to Intelliflo, Plannr, Curo and XPlan. It also offers AI meeting notes and AI compliance checks. Its pricing page describes a 14-day free trial with no credit card and month-on-month billing, and publishes per-user prices.

How ProSuitability differs. ProSuitability does not read provider LOA packs, take meeting notes, or run compliance checks on finished files, and it does not write back to a back-office system. It does one job: turn the fact-find and recommendation you enter into a structured suitability report draft for you to review and export.

Where AdvisoryAI may suit you more. If your bottleneck is extracting data from provider documents, or you want one AI platform covering meeting notes, report drafting in your own templates and compliance checking, with integration into your back office, AdvisoryAI is designed for that range.

Paraplanning Online (PPOL)

What their site says. Paraplanning Online, known as PPOL, says it provides “an online suitability report and outsourced paraplanning solution for financial advisers”. Its Suitability Report Builder is web-based and uses “wizard” technology, a guided question-and-answer session, to generate a suitability report that can be downloaded as a Word document. A Report Template Editor lets users add, hide or edit the underlying wording, and Company and Group accounts let a master user control report content for other users. The site also offers cashflow modelling and financial calculators (PPOLcalcs) and lists optional integrations with Intelliflo Office, Iress Xplan and Plannr. Separately, its outsourced paraplanning page lists a selection of freelance paraplanning services it recommends for research and report writing, and says none of them insists on a monthly retainer. The site’s calls to action are to request a demo or sign up.

How ProSuitability differs. ProSuitability is software only: we do not write reports or refer firms to paraplanners. With an outsourced paraplanner, a third party writes the report from the information you send; with ProSuitability, the writing stays with your firm. Your own adviser or paraplanner enters the case details and the recommendation, ProSuitability assembles a structured first draft from its paragraph library, and your team reviews, edits and exports it. There is no question-and-answer wizard: you enter the case and edit each draft before export. We are working on a configuration tool that will let a firm omit sections it handles differently; it is not available yet. ProSuitability is also developing a lifetime cashflow modeller, currently in beta and expected to launch initially as a standalone product; it is not part of ProSuitability today. No back-office integration is needed to use ProSuitability.

Where PPOL may suit you more. If your firm does not have the in-house capacity to write reports and wants a human paraplanner to research and write them, PPOL’s list of recommended freelance paraplanning services is one place to start. If you prefer a guided question-and-answer route to a report, want to maintain your own house wording in a template editor, need a master user to control report content across a firm or network, or want cashflow modelling and tax calculators from the same provider as your report builder, PPOL is built around that.

ChatGPT and other general chatbots

What their site says. OpenAI describes ChatGPT as a general assistant for everyday questions, writing, work tasks and coding, available on personal, business and enterprise plans.

How ProSuitability differs. A general chatbot has no built-in suitability report structure, and whatever it writes depends on the prompt you type. ProSuitability is built around the report: a consistent structure, the case and recommendation you enter, role-based access for advisers, paraplanners and firm admins, and an audit record of significant actions such as case changes, sign-off and exports. Whether client data may be pasted into any external tool is a decision for your firm and its data-protection policies.

Where a chatbot may suit you more. For work that does not involve client files — explaining a concept, tidying a newsletter, brainstorming a seminar outline — a general assistant is flexible and familiar. Whatever you choose, run a real (anonymised) case through a trial or demo before you commit. No software replaces the adviser’s judgement or the firm’s own file checks. Under COBS 9 the firm still has to show why a recommendation suits the client, and under the Consumer Duty the report still has to support the client’s understanding.
